Overview
A Personal number is a real phone number (also known as DID - Direct Inward Dialing Number) which is available for people to call. People call this number and it'll be forwarded to wherever you want at very cheap rates. You can even set a sophisticated scheduling for this.
For example, a business in Europe can have a Canada or U.S number that customers in North America can dial, but which forwards automatically to your European office at cheap rates. You can have a separate number for your home-based business to make it appear more professional. You can have separate numbers for family members to provide a feeling of independence and a way to keep in contact.
Call forwarding allows your calls to be routed to any landline, mobile phone, IAX, or SIP phone depending on the time of day or day of the week. You may provide several alternatives to try if your primary phone is busy or you are not reachable. This is called a "follow me" service and is included with your Yinn account at no additional charge.
You can define the time frame and which phone numbers to find you at. You cannot have times overlap. The switch from one number to trying the next number occurs when the phone is not available or when the timeout is over. You set the timeout in seconds for each attempted number during a call.
For example, you may set up something like the following. For all working days from 8:00 till 18:00.
- Your IP phone.
- Your office number with a 30 second timeout.
- Your mobile phone number.
- Voice mail.
In this example when somebody is calling your personal number, it will first call your IP phone. If no answer or if you are off-line the system will route to your office phone. If nobody answers your office phone during the 30 seconds timeout the system will then try to reach you on your mobile phone. If you are out of range or do not answer your mobile phone the call will then route to your voice mail.
How do I get a DID or personal number?
Go to your Admin center using your username and password .. Once there go to the module TELEPHONY and click on the link PERSONNAL#’ S and then click on the option BUY MORE PHONES NUMBERS.

DID usage
Simple forwarding
In your admin center on 'personal #' page specify the phone number where you want to forward the call to. The picklist should be set to "Redirect to:". You can also specify a SIP or IAX URL to forward to.
Advanced forwarding
You can apply more complex conditions to number forwarding using redirect profile . E.g. you may want to forward the number from 8:00 till 17:00 to one number and after 17:00 to another number and then after hours to your voice mail box.
Personal callback
Personal callback may be used when you have issues with passing your CallerID on calls to our regular Callback number.
The system will hangup on any call to your Personal callback DID number and initiate a call back to you. The number you specified for the call back will be called and you will be prompted to dial the number you want to call . On 'personal #' page specify the phone number you want the system to call you back at when someone dials your Personal call back DID. The picklist should be set to "Callback to:".
Voice mail and Conferencing
Personal number can be forwarded to Voice mail or the Conference room.
Forwarding to SIP or IAX
Number can be forwarded using SIP or IAX protocol. If your device supports registration you can configure it to register with our server and set forwarding to "Your IP phone".
In other cases you may specify SIP or IAX url which should contain authentication information and host name.
VOICE MAIL
Voice mail works together with a personal number . You may configure a personal number to forward calls to your voice mail.
Voice mail service.
Yinn provides integrated voice mail service at no additional charge. As long as you have an active account with a positive credit balance you can have voice mail service.
Voice mail service is available for a local or personal phone number. A local phone number is an internal phone number within our network. When someone calls your local number or a real personal number you can forward these calls to your voice mail box.
You can have one or more voice mail boxes in your account. To configure your "personal numbers" for voice mail go to the "personal numbers" page in your admin center.
Accessing voice mail using an access number
You may access your voice mail boxes through our various country access numbers:
- Dial access number.
- Enter your PIN number if required.
- System will inform you if you have any new messages.
- Dial 80 to enter your voice mail box or enter number in international format to make regular call.
Accessing voice mail using an IP phone.
For accessing your voice mail boxes using SIP or IAX based phones dial 80. Some models of IP phones support a notification of voice mail messages. Usually, only registration of your device on our VOIP network is required to access your voice mail box by dialing 80.
